On 17th January, H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, called on Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zambia Hon. Joseph Malanji. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common interest.
Ambassador Yang extended warm congratulations to Hon. Malanji on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zambia. He told the new Minister that the China-Zambia friendly relations have maintained positive momentum and the political mutual trust has been increasingly consolidated. The exchange of high-level visits between the two countries has been frequent and bilateral pragmatic cooperation in the fields of trade, people-to-people exchange and military has achieved fruitful results. The China-Zambia relations in 2018 has seen a good start, and the FOCAC Summit will be held in Beijing this year, and will provide rare opportunities for the development of China-Zambia bilateral relations. The Chinese side is willing to work hand in hand with the Zambian side to promote the further development of China-Zambia and China-Africa relations.
Hon. Malanji agreed with the positive evaluation made by Ambassador Yang on bilateral relations. He told the Ambassador that China and Zambia enjoy a long history of friendship and Zambia appreciates the selfless assistance China has rendered to Zambia’s socio-economic development. The Zambian side is willing to maintain and develop close and friendly cooperative relations with the Chinese side.
